Adobe Acrobat — Quick Start Setup
This quick start gets you signed in and using Adobe Acrobat (formerly Acrobat DC) with your CRL license. Be sure to read the important security note at the end before you start working with documents.
1. Open Adobe Acrobat
Double-click the Acrobat icon on your desktop.
2. Sign in with your CRL account
Create/sign in to an account using your CRL Technologies email address, then click Continue.
3. Verify your account
Your account/email can be verified two ways:
- Verification link: an email is sent with a link that verifies your account. You’ll still need to log in with your new Adobe ID to use the software.
- Verification code: you’ll also receive a code by email — enter it on the “Verify your identity” screen.
If successful, Acrobat starts and you can begin using the software.
If you see “account created but no license”
This message means you successfully created an account but haven’t been assigned a license.
If you believe you’ve reached this in error, contact the Helpdesk. The best way is to reply to the Software Request ticket you submitted to have Acrobat assigned to you.
⚠ VERY IMPORTANT — Cloud vs. Desktop
The CRL-provided Acrobat license is also a cloud solution, which means the same tools are available online (Adobe Document Cloud) as on your desktop.
Do NOT process or store sensitive materials using the online tools or online storage. This includes, but is not limited to, CRL proprietary information, FOUO, CUI, or other controlled documents.
Use the desktop version for any sensitive or controlled documents.
